Note:
According to Maxwell (2022), the darker morph found in Indonesia is in fact the true Doxander vittatus and the Australian shell got a new name: Doxander queenslandicus Maxwell, 2022. In my opinion, there are only 3 species of Doxander: D. vittatus; D. campbelli and D. japonicus. DNA must prove what it is for real. For now, I follow Maxwell (2022) and call the Indonesian shell Doxander vittatus while I call the Australian shell Doxander queenslandicus until DNA is known of all these poppulations.
